For solving this problrm, issues related to sustainable developments (SDs) are taking important attends of blobal governments and businesses. The design and implementation of environmental management is perceived as an effective means to achieve sustainable development not only protecting environments, saving costs but also creating competitive advantages. Today, many companies generally rely on enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to run their business operations. It provides a base to investigate how to invite environmental sustainability features including green-based functions into ERP modules; therefore the enterprises can advance their profits, take into account the protection of the environment, achieve sustainable development and obtain competitive advantages. This thesis adopts the grounded theory with considering the concepts of impact of sustainable development, competitive advantage, environmental management information system (EMIS) principles and stakeholder to establish a Green Value-Added ERP Model in logistics industry. The investigation results present the relationships among the proposed four models: 1) competitive advantage and ERP performance indicators, 2) green practices and ERP Performance indicators, 3) EMIS principles and ERP Performance indicators, 4) competitive advantage and sustainable development indicators. This thesis provides practical suggestions that may contribute the enterprises that are looking for ERP solutions with Green-concepted features. In Taiwan, the efforts on implementating environmental protection works and studies are so far behind those on Europe and America areas. The achievements of this thesis indicate a new research direction of combining ERP and SD features.
