Taijiang National Park emphasizes on the 400-year history of Taiwanese cultivation, which makes the issue get more public attention. And the issue of how to combine the cultural space within national park with eco-tourism gradually emerged. The domestic attitude toward the preservation of cultural space and architecture is single-site preservation, which lacks of gross view and money. But now is a good time to develop cultural-eco-tourism, because people’s living and travelling style have changed. Under the concept of ecology and environmental protection, eco-tourism which combines certain theme has become a trend in Europe and America, and been in line with the needs of all age groups. To promote eco-tourism through national park tourism experiences, ecological conservation and cultural spatial reuse is the most attractive developing direction of Taiwan’s national park in recent years, the Kimen National Park is the best example. Shoushan National Natural Park, has unique barrier reefs vegetation,famous Formosan macaques and precious cultural monuments. Due to a long-term military control in Shoushan , diversity of natural resources can be properly preserved, so cultural landscape experience is the best condition to develop eco-tourism in Shoushan National Natural Park . This study collects relevant research of the National Park System, eco-tourism cases, expert-consultations and statistical questionnaires which were collected by Shoushan National Natural Park Administrative Office, and tries to give a strategy of cutural space reuse and activation through comprehensive analyzing, and discusses ways of empowerment, recreation behaviors and facility improvement, eco-tourism planning and promotion methods, management and maintenance recommendations, and other issues related to the promotion of cultural historical sites. This study analyzes the cultural space in Shoushan National Natural Park area, and tries to find the best strategy and planning method to combine humanity and ecotourism by analyzing experts and scholars’ opinions in Old-Zuoying-City case.
