Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 建築系 === 102 === The university dorm does not represent the whole living environment of the school, but it is a key experience of the college life. Therefore, a quality dorm environment is beneficial for the students to have a sound mental and physical development and achieve better learning efficiency. National Taipei University is going to plan on the new student dorm. In response to this, I conduct a questionnaire survey of the 997 students living in the dorm in the Sanxia school area. By applying Post-Occupancy Evaluation (POE), I will start from the students’ practical need and satisfaction to conduct the systematic investigation and evaluation of the present conditions and architecture functions as the reference for the future planning and design of the new student dorm. In my thesis, I will first clarify the motive, meaning, and purpose of the study. I will propose the study methods. Through POE, I do the field study on the student dorm in the Sanxia school area of National Taipei University. The main structure is focused on the students’ opinions on the dorm planning, practical need, and their evaluation on satisfaction. I will further conduct an investigation and evaluation on the three dimensions of the dorm design, dorm equipment, as well as management and maintenance. Through my thesis, I will understand the practical use of the student dorm and the students’ practical need, expectations, and comments. After the evaluation, I’ve found that the successful parts and other existing problems in terms of the three perspectives of design, equipment, as well as management and maintenance of the dorm. I will analyze these needs and problems and look for possible solutions. Finally, I will make conclusions and provide suggestions of how to better the design of the student dorm and to improve the living environment as the reference for the future construction.
