Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 工業管理系 === 102 === Health problem are all around the world. WHO stated that the leading causes of global health are all preventable and related to an unhealthy lifestyle. A recent study on health statistics shows that lifestyle related diseases are leveraging at an alarming rate. Apparently, improved health care and public health promotion campaigns are not compelling to cease the problems. A big concern should be placed in human’s behavior change toward healthy lifestyle. Behavior change should influence individuals as well as environments. Technology takes a major role not only in reducing or slow spiraling medical costs but also in promoting wellness throughout all stages of life. Ubiquitous computing and context-aware algorithms combined with persuasive technology are potential solution to support behavior change. This system is able to actively persuade people to start living a healthy lifestyle through its recommendations that are generated using people’s current condition, activity and context. In this matter, persuasive technology should be designed as attractive as possible to gain people’s attention and engagement. Persuasive technology helps the system to guide people receiving the right message, in the right time, at the right place through the right media. With persuasive technology ingrained in the system, people will voluntarily attached to it and consequently having their behavior changed along the journey. A persuasive technology framework proposed in this research is able to promote behavior change toward healthy lifestyle and subsequently help reducing lifestyle related diseases.
