While people strengthening the uniqueness and characteristics of a solo instrument in this era, however, a duet, which is also an important setting plays a major role in widen the repertory and solitary in characteristics of Yang-Qin. This essay emphasis in analytical research on 2 duet works which are Xian Pin, composed by Yue-Ning Liu and Mu-Chen and Shuang Que by Tan-Dun. Besides, the interpretation and analysis keen to show the function of a duet I n settings of Yang Qin, furthermore, this essay would like to reflect the values and qualities of Yang-Qin in a duet form. The functions of Yang-Qin performance in a duet setting with another musical instrument showed the staccato rhythmic expression, the tone and the colour of the acoustics sounds, setting off and refine the leitmotif to represent the durability of its’ characters and functions.
