Recent studies have shown that microbiota which was composed by the intestinal commensal bacteria played an important role in health In this research, we supplied the mice with probiotics and fish oil-containing nutritional supplement through tube feeding to evaluate the effect of single dose or combination of two doses on intestinal digestive enzyme activity and microbiota. And to determine which method will have the best supplemental benefit. The result of intestinal enzyme activity showed that all of the supplement could enhance the activity of maltase and leucine aminopeptidase, and the single dose of probiotic supplement could enhance the activity of lactase in non-specific immune response in mice. But the regulation role of supplement was adverse in OVA-specific immune responses in mice. The microbial result showed that no matter how the supplement we feed the mice, all of them can decrease the Clostridium Perfringens and increase the Lactobacillus spp.. Supply with probiotics and median or high dose combination can increase the bifidobacterium spp. in microbiota. Different result in intestinal enzyme activity may due to the intestinal dysfunction in OVA-specific immune responses in mice which had been intraperitoneal injection of . OVA. Thus, the result of regulation of supplement on intestinal enzyme activity in non-specific immune responses mice may be more dependable. A summary of the result above, we suggested that the supply of the median dose of combination of probiotics and fish oil-containing nutritional supplements may have the better supplementary effect compared to that of other supply method.
