Some of the elevator systems designed back in the time are not capable of reaching satisfactory service nowadays, result in large queue in rush hours which might cause complaints or unsatisfactory of passengers. The cases in this study are High-Tech office buildings, in which there are about 100 people waiting in the elevator hall, and the area is only approximately 40 square-meters. Therefore, this study is targeted to find solution to mitigate the queuing status. This study applies queuing theory and uses simulation tool (Arena) as auxiliary model to calculate queuing status in moderate height High-Tech office buildings. This research examines different elevator strategies through practical outcomes, and then provides these models and strategies as reference to the company as their guidance in future building planning. This study uses excel forms as calculation tool for queuing theory which is easily accessible concept to analyze heavy traffic situations. Moreover, the research applied simulation software Arena to build a model and perform multiple times of simulation; then this study takes the average of the outcomes and compare to the results of excel form methods. 郭斯傑 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 90 zh-TW
