The content is very simple but worm and the humorous plots attract the audiences deeply. Therefore, it becomes the famous animation. In addition to the plots, the most successful reason of the animation is the interesting interaction of the roles. The most important role is Okaasann who has a very common face but the spirit of devoting herself to her family makes her the most famous animated character. The purpose of the study is to analyze how does the author build the external image and express the internal characteristic to make the audience break the myth of the stereotyped animated character and fascinate with the funny Okaasann.
The study is divided into 5 chapters. The chapter one is to illustrate study background, motivation, questions, aims, methodology, process, range, and restriction. To realize the author’s creational idea and process from comic to animation. The chapter two is to induce the animation roles, comical theory and situation comedy from literature review for the subsequent analysis. The chapter three is to analyze Okassann’s external image form the figure, movement and voice to understand the feature of the role. The chapter four is to discuss Okassann’s internal characteristic from the family relationship and in circulation, then deduce the role’s personality. Furthermore, corresponding Okaasann to the obasan phenomenon to discover the social position and social value which delivered from Okaasann. This is also the main issue in chapter five. Through the character Okaasann in ATASHIn'CHI, people can reconsider the value of family, self-worth and the existential meaning.
