Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 文化資源與休閒產業學系 === 102 === The study was an action research on integrating cultural elements into English teaching, which applied Easter activities into teaching fourth grade students at one of the elementary schools in Taitung. Based on the process of teaching, revising and teaching again, the study aimed to develop a cultural activity for beginners in English learning. In addition, the study planned to analyze how the cultural activity influenced students’ interests in learning English and their performance of listening and speaking. In the course, the study data were collected from interviews, classroom observation, worksheets and teaching journals. At the end of the research, the findings were as follows:
1. The project of integrating Easter activities into English teaching was appropriate.
2. Well organized students’ previous vocabulary and sentence structure with Easter activities in English learning could enhance students’ interest and cognition.
3. Multiple teaching strategies used in the project of integrating Easter activities into English teaching could better students’ motivation and attitude.
According to the results of this research, some suggestions are proposed for English teaching and future research.
