Per research is conducted using Action Research method, examining if stop-motion animation is able to integrate into kindergarten environment. The research includes: designing courses and teaching strategies to apply stop-motion animation into kindergarten education, the problems people have to face when integrating stop-motion animation into kindergarten education, problems and strategies to solve the problems, and what it implicate on the meaning of education. And use this research to analyze if it benefit the kindergarten education, also evaluate the probability incorporating into the kindergarten education.
Per research on kindergarten animation courses are separated in three methods, “Concept established”, “Applying concept”, and “Experience integration”. The tactic is using different media materials to guide children’s creative animation. The research have designed 11 courses (one hour per course), the course includes: car motion animation, toys motion animation, Tangram animation, Lego animation, puzzle animation, paper man animation, drawing animation, clay animation, body animation, and complex media material animation. Per research has two cycles, one cycle is base towards 6 third year kindergarten children, and second cycle base towards 14 kindergarten children of different ages.
Below are the results after implementing the research:
1. Children’s animation educational course has educational values includes: “can initiate children’s self learning abilities”, “can develop children’s problem solving abilities”, “the exquisite of animation course enhance children’s abilities”.
2. Children’s animation course helps children’s “self exploring abilities”, “problem solving abilities”, “creative abilities”, and“society interaction abilities”.
3. The problems that might surface when teaching stop-motion animation are: structuring a “move concept” course design, the abilities of children in a mix age class, teacher’s involvement. The strategies to solve these problems are: 1) follow the sequential when proceeding, and design the course from easy to hard; 2) team leadership, and help each other work together; 3) teachers should let the children explore at the right time, and respect self learning
Finally, according to the implementation, final results, and the introspections to provide the suggestions.
