Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺中科技大學 === 資訊管理系碩士班 === 102 === Over the past decade, the mobile devices have been more and more popular and provide a variety of services for user to rely on those devices. Therefore, the mobile devices uptime would influence user satisfaction, and energy efficiency becomes the most important design issue for mobile devices. To increase energy efficiency of mobile devices, first of all we have to understand the behavior of energy consumption of the applications in mobile devices.
In this paper, we analyze the feature of system calls invoked by applications and their power consumption in mobile devices. Additionally, we develop a multi-core energy profiling system which can monitor the system calls invoked by applications. By profiling the energy consumption and hardware information from kernel model, the behavior of applications and the relationship of system calls can be summarized thoroughly by means of the proposed multi-core energy profiling system. Additionally, an energy efficiency multi-core scheduling is developed by using the results.
