Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 資訊管理研究所 === 102 === This study develops a computerized music arrangement system that follows the music theory to enrich a base main melody with chords and other accompanied musicial elements. The system is capable of nearly completing an arranged melody based on a simple main melody encoded in the MIDI format. The system utilizes the basic notes contained in the main melody, which is automatically accompanied, composed, and arranged by the system. The system includes functions to calculate the appropriate chords for each measure, add prelude and postlude, add harmonic vice-melody as well as incorporate improvisation and variation. A user with little music training is capable of creating an abundant music from a simple main tune through the system. We assessed the system performance by the arranger recognition test, arranger preference test and system satisfaction test. The results show that our system indeed generated an arranged music that is appreciated and enjoyed by the subject participating the test. The resultant arranged music is considered to equate what is produced by a pro-amateur. For people with little music training, they can create a unique song easily; for people with more music training, the system may greatly reduce the time and efforts for them to arrange music.
