The research explores the relationship between the Presbyterian Church and the elementary school’s life education on aspects such as the motivation of the parties, purpose, cooperation model, teaching material aspects, teaching process, effectiveness of teaching and strategies for coping with dilemmas encountered during promoting the curriculum. The research method is a case study. Primary data is collected from interviews, classroom observations, questionnaires and an analysis of related documents. This is supplemented with the authors’ analysis of the contents of the life education materials as created by the Presbyterian Church and the collection of quantitative data from character questionnaires. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1.The Presbyterian Church and the elementary school have similar views regarding motivation and purpose of life education and could therefore implement a joint teaching process and set up a cooperation model. 2.The main subjects of life education by the Presbyterian Church are ethics education and health education. Religious subjects are not stressed. 3.The training material from the Presbyterian Church for the volunteers is well aligned with the objectives of the curriculum. It uses a variety of didactic techniques to make the curriculum diversified and interesting. Classroom Management is appropriate and teacher and students have a good interaction. 4.Analysis of the teaching effectiveness using before and after character questionnaires, evaluation of student assignments, student interviews and an observations log shows that, after implementation of Presbyterian Church‘s life education curriculum, students have improved (among 6 character aspects) in cognitive, affective and behavioral dimensions. 5.Strategies are required to cope with the dilemmas of promoting a church teaching method in an elementary school. This includes giving campus access to the church, encouraging parents to work as volunteers, appointing a dedicated person for promoting life education, dispelling doubts about church missionary work on the campus and making adjustments to the contents of the life education material as created by the Presbyterian Church.
