First, it researched social capital and learning motivation on current status. Secondly, it also studied the differences among context variables of the social capital and learning motivation. Finally, it studied the relationship among the social capital and learning motivation. This study used the method of questionnaire survey making self questionnaire for five to six grades of elementary school students who are new immigrant and non-immigrant children in Penghu County. The survey sampled 705 new immigrant and non-immigrant children and 686 effective questionnaires. The survey data used descriptive statistics tools, independent t-test on average, hierarchical regression analysis, and structural equation modeling analysis. The main findings of this study can be summarized as follows: 1.Two groups of children’s social capital are good. 2.Two groups of children’s learning motivation are fine. 3.The parent participation and teacher-student relationship of the non-immigrant children are higher than the new immigrant children. 4.There is no difference of two groups of children’s learning motivation. 5.The girls of the non-immigrant children, who live with parents in further remote area with high-socioeconomical status, have better social capital. However, context variables of new immigrant children make no significant difference in social capital. 6.The girls of the non-immigrant children, who live with parents, have better learning motivation. However, context variables of new immigrant children make no significant difference in learning motivation. 7.The structural equation modeling test shows that two groups of children’s perception of parents' educational expectation and teacher-student relationship could positively affect their learning motivation. As the result, this study offers some suggestions to parents, schools, educational administrations, as well as future studies. 張芳全 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 149 zh-TW
