Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士班 === 102 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the current status of parents’ involvement in the transition services of their children to the self-contained special classes of vocational high schools in New Taipei City. A self-developed questionnaire “Questionnaire of the Current Status of Parents’ Involvement in the Transition Services of Their Children to the Self-contained Special Classes of Vocational High Schools in New Taipei City” was applied to conduct a survey. The participants of the study were parents whose children entered into the self-contained special classes of vocational high schools in New Taipei City in 2013. 163 questionnaires were disseminated to participants, and 145 questionnaires were completed and returned, with the effective rate of 88.95%. The following are the results of this study.
1. The level of participation of the overall current status of parents’ involvement in the transition services was between “sometimes” and “usually,” and the level of participation of every part of current status of the transition services was also between “sometimes” and “usually”. However, in family and school aspects of transition services tend to the frequency of “usually,” and in community aspect of the transition service tends to the frequency of “sometimes.”
2. The current status of parents’ involvement in the transition services has significant differences among parents of different level of education in the overall current status and in family and school aspects of transition services. It shows that parents with level of senior high school have better participation than parents with level of under junior high school.
3. The current status of parents’ involvement in the transition services has significant differences among parents of different income of family in the overall current status and in school aspect of transition services. There was no significant difference under Scheffe’s method, but there were significant differences in part of the question items.
4. The current status of parents’ involvement in the transition services did not differ significantly among parents of different structures of family, gender of children and level and categories of childrens’ disability. But there were significant differences in part of the question items.
Finally, based on the findings from the survey, the author provided some suggestions for actual operation and future study.
