Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士班 === 102 === The purpose of present study was to investigate the effects of the chronic therapeutic exercise intervention which adds the concepts of aerobic intensity and complex coordinated exercise on working memory and problem behavior of the elementary school children with ADHD. And the research method used nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group quasi-experiments design; eleven elementary school children with ADHD were choose as participants, including six ADHD children as experimental group and five as control group. During the study period, the experimental group received aerobic combined with complex coordination exercise, twice a week, 90 minutes a time, 10weeks. The research tools included computerized working memory test, and problem behavior screening scales completed by parents and teacher before and after the intervention. After statistical analysis, the results showed: (a) The scores of the working memory tests increased, but it didn’t reach the significant level between the experimental group and control (b) After the intervention, the shape span (p=.016) and math span (p=.047) improved, and it showed significant difference (c) After intervention, the inattention and opposite behavior decreased, but it didn’t show significant difference. And it showed no change on the hyperactivity/impulsive behavior and function part.
Thus the aerobic combined with complex coordination exercise has a positive impact on elementary school children with ADHD, but the difficulty of the complex coordination exercise and the effects of the exercise on working memory which influenced by task difficulty should be considered.
