Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 自然科學教育學系 === 102 === The purpose of this study was to investigate: (1) the application of iPod inquiry teaching for elementary sixth graders’ learning performances of the electromagnetic interaction. (2) The application of iPod inquiry teaching for elementary sixth graders’ impacts on scientific attitude. (3) The acquisition and reflection of the researcher himself of carrying out iPod inquiry teaching.
This experiment was based on quantitate researchsupplemented by qualitative research. The studies were 52 students of 2 classes from an elementary school in Taipei City. They were divided into experimental group and control group to conduct quasi-experimental study. The experimental group received iPod inquiry teaching while the control group using traditional teaching method.
The research tools in this department included, “electromagnetic interaction learning achievement tests” and “scientific attitude scale”. I used pretests and post-tests for the experimental group and the control group before and after teaching and conducted “pre and post tests T test” and “ANCOVA analysis” according to the results and supplemented by analyzing three qualitative data including teaching reflection records, teaching dialogue records and student interviews to discuss the research results.
The research results were:
1. The application of iPod inquiry teaching could effectively promote students’ learning achievement of the electromagnetic interaction. Students of the experimental group got higher scores than the control group and reached statistic level of significance.
2. The application of iPod inquiry teaching could effectively promote scientific attitude. Students of the experimental group got higher scores than the control group and reached statistic level of significance.
3. In every stage of using iPod inquiry teaching, the students were more willing to accept invitations, conduct forecast enthusiastically, operate experiments seriously, and participate discussions actively.
4. During the course of using iPod inquiry teaching, the researcher gained professional development by the acquisition and reflection of the researcher himself.
Based on the results of the study, some suggestions were made for teachers and future studies.
