The analyses of the accumulated content of FA and MA in the liver and muscle tissues in the end of the 24-hour experimental duration after the exogenous input either by oral administration or caudal vein injection. The average weight of experimental fish was 800 ± 50g. Maleic and fumaric acids were either orally adminstrated at levels of 0, 128, 256, 384 and 480 mg / kg body weight or caudal vein injection at 0, 8, 16, 24 and 30 ppm. In the oral administration group, plasma MA concentration peaked at the 6th to 8th hours. Urine MA concentration significantly elevated at the 2nd hour after the initiation of the experiment, then peaked at the 6th hour on all the treatment groups of fish orally forced fed diets containing various levels of MA than that of the control group. In the injection group, plasma MA concentration dropped right after injection and MA concentration in urine reached the highest peak at the 4th hour after injection. The level of the accumulated MA in the liver of tilapia sholwed no differences among all the levels of the dietary treatement fish, neither found any singificant difference among the all levels treated in the injection experiment. There were no significant differences in the muscle MA concentrations among the treatments either in the oral administration or in the injection groups. The plasma FA concentration peaked at the 4th to 8th hours and the urine FA concentration peaked at the 6th hour after fish orally forced fed diets containing various levels of FA. In injection experiment, plasma FA concentration dropped right after injection except for the 30 ppm treatment group of fish and urine FA concentration peaked at the 4th hour. There were no significant differences in the liver and muscle FA concentrations among the treatments either in the injection or the oral administration experiment. The respective post 24-hour FA accmulated range was 19.48 ~ 21.04 ppm in the liver and 1.02 ~ 1.34 ppm in the muscle. The recovery rates of MA and FA by kidney filtration were 99.98% ~ 99.99% from the 45th minute to the 2nd hour after injection. The ADME ( Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion ) of MA and or FA in the body of hybrid tilapia showed that the unknown level increased with increasing MA or FA treatment level. But the averaged unknown level in the oral adminitration groups were higher than that of the injection groups. Digestive system associated organs and tissues other than liver and muscle may play alternative accumulation and excretion role in the MA and FA metabolism of tilapia. In the oral administration group, plasma MA concentration peaked at the 6th to 8th hours.
