Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 社會教育學系在職進修碩士班 === 102 === This study borrows ballet as a metaphor for inquiring life relationships. In the ballet, the dancer steps onto the stage and learn to perform with the other dancers, moving around discordance and gradually tapping into harmony. The researcher adopts the narrative inquiry to probe the transformative process from stagnancy to harmony. Through arduous living experiences, she learns to resolve many troublesome relationships in the course of narrating and writing, which enables her to encounter with the beauty, kindness and harmony in life.
From the narrative inquiry of dancing with her loved ones, the researcher comes to see clearly each of the other dancers in the ballet and gains insights into this aesthetic journey. Through this aesthetic journey, dread toward her grandfather since childhood was redeemed, and detachment between father and daughter got retied. She also learns to embrace the beauty of differences once preventing her from understanding spouse relationship, and accordingly reconstructing her relationship with her belief. All of these lead her toward the harmonious relationships in which the transformative power of life emerges.
In this narrative inquiry, the researcher found that the many tempering experiences indeed help foster her inner motif for harmony, find her sensual rituals, enrich the spiritual writing, enable group narrating and elevate her mental power. She finally comes to realize that all of these arduous relationships catering with the many aesthetically touching moments foster the inner wealth of beauty, kindness and sincerity. Meanwhile, her relationships with self, others, environment and heaven are further elevated, being reconnected and baptized in action, reflection and awareness.
The study reveals the realization of valuable harmonious relationships through the metaphor of ballet dancing. It is believed that our inner peace could be forged with the outer challenges. The greater capacity we have for embracing differences, the more powerful we would be in harnessing beautiful interpersonal relationships. Harmonious relationships need nourishment of both love and beauty. From the viewpoint of aesthetic education and aesthetic learning, the study suggest collective narratives of personal relationships, expressive arts for bridging the gap between generations, the aesthetic practice for resolving the differences of couple, the establishment of social spirtuality network, and empowerment of the helpers. It is expected that this narrative study of human relationship aesthetics would shed light on the way we see ourselves and others, help elevate us from ego to big self, and nurture our inner beauty and positive power.
