Methods: Twenty little league players (height=149.29±7.92cm, weight=47.68±13.32kg) were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group, with ten members in each group. In addition to the normal team training, the experimental group was reinforced with an eight-week upper limb medicine ball plyometric training, which was conducted twice a week with six movements each time. The control group only accepted the normal team training. The upper limb strength (at sitting throwing position) , throwing distance, speed and accuracy were measured before and after the experiment. The two-way mixed design ANOVA analysis was used to compare the performances of experimental group and control group after eight week of training. Results: Significant difference was found on upper limb strength (at sitting throwing position) and throwing speed (p<.05) ,which indicated that the performace of the experimental group was superior to that of the control group. No significant difference was showed between these two group on throwing distance and accuracy (p>.05) .Conclusion: The medicine ball plyometric training adopted by the research can improve little league players’ upper limb strength and throwing speed effectively. The use of medicine ball plyometric training on regular baseball training will be recommended to increase little league players’ upper limb strength and exercise performance.
