The purpose of the study was to examine the teaching disturbance in the teachers of students with visual impairments in elementary schools and junior high schools in New Taipei city and Taipei city.
The tool of the research was the “questionnaire of Teaching Disturbance in the Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments in Elementary Schools and Junior High Schools ”.
This study were teachers who were teaching students with visual impairments in public elementary schools and junior high schools in New Taipei city and Taipei city, with 148 surveys mailed, 120 of which being valid surveys, and 84% being the rate of valid sampling. The collected data were processed through such statistical methods as mean, standard deviation, and the effective size were compiled for further in depth studies. The main findings in the study were as following:
1. According to the result of this research, the degree of teaching disturbance in the teacher of students with visual impairments in inclusive class of elementary schools and junior high schools was low.
2. The highest degree in teaching disturbance was “The students with visual impairment are involved with instructional design ”. The lowest degree in teaching disturbance was “The special education teacher failure to help apply for the visually impaired instructional material and device”.
3. The degree of teaching disturbance ranked from high to low: curriculum and teaching, professional knowledge and skills, parents’ participation, classroom management,and the supporting system.
4. The teaching disturbance were different with personal background variables. There were significant differences of teachers’ services years in ordinary classes and teaching grades.
According to the results of this study, some recommendations were provided for official administration, school administration, regular education teachers, parents, future study for considerations.
