Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 動畫媒體設計研究所 === 102 === Sequences of shots are used for storytelling in 3D computer animations to express information for audiences from creators. Shots are basic units in moving images just like texts of stories in the writing format. Texts constitute paragraphs and paragraphs constitute a narrative. Sequences of shots with good rhythm help communicate the content of the story to touch audiences. The purpose of this thesis is to study the rhythm of moving images, in which the relations between shots are built. In the analysis of The Piano, Toy Story of Terror and Herzarfen, it was found that obvious high rhythmic points in each of the films corresponds the climax of the story in each of them. It indicates that the influence and the importance of the rhythm in moving images. In my animation production, 1/2 Dream, main character struggled his way to achieve his dream to become a pilot but encountered a crucial impede. Story starts form the main character saw a paper airplane flew toward him. That invoked his memory of his childhood when he had started to be interested in airplane. It followed be his effort to pursuit his dream to become a pilot in steps of growing himself. This thesis is to discuss the presentation of the rhythms in 3D computer animations, analyze the way that rhythms are applied in animations with similar themes, and employ the results and foundings in my own production.
