Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 幼兒教育學系早期療育碩士班 === 102 === This study aimed to investigate the consideration and expecting when the parents of children with special needs choose kindergarten in Taichung city. For in-depth understanding the experience of the parents in choosing kindergarten and explore their perspective on personality which the preschool inclusive teachers should have. The case study conducted two parents who assist their children with special needs adapt to the general kindergarten successfully. The findings are as follows: 1. Before the children with special needs into kindergarten, there are six major considerations when their parents choose kindergarten, including the distance from home to kindergarten, teaching content provided by the kindergarten, the environment and equipment, opinions of the accompanying professionals, the child’s preference and the principal’s attitudes. 2. According to the experience, the parents of children with special needs consider there are four factors affect the inclusion in kindergarten include Teacher characteristics; Professional competence; Leader’s style; and Support system. And inclusive education teachers should have the 6 characteristics were summarized as tolerance, acceptance, energetic, patient, kindness and positive thinking ability. 3. The parents of children with special needs suggest other parents could take the factors including characters and leading style of principle, characters and professional competence of teachers, accompanying professionals, environment of kindergarten, and distance from home to kindergarten into consideration when choosing kindergarten. Finally, according to the findings, researcher made the following recommendations to the kindergarten, parents of children with special needs and future research respectively.
