Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 教育學系 === 102 === This purposes of this research were to understand the tomboy’s campus experiences about what their images were, how they construct identities, etc. Five tomboys were objects of this study. The researcher used interviewing to collect data from five participants. In addition, the researcher also did participant observation when I was interviewing. The processes of data analysis were open coding, axial, and selective coding. These processes produced five categories: The timing of the identity awareness, the tomboys’ image, homophobia in campus, friendly campus or not, and the mothers’ support.
The findings were as follows:
1. The timing of the identity awareness of the tomboys’ were from 5 to 13 years old.
2. The tomboys’ image was masculine.
3. Homophobia still pervades the campus.
4. The attitude of fellow students about tomboys was more friendly than their teachers.
5. The mothers’ support is one the important influences for tomboys identity clarify.
