Space is not only the field of human activity but also reflects the cultural values of human society, and the psychological identification. People understand the spatial knowledge through spatial experiences, and understand the knowledge of the world through local experiences. The research for the spatial patterns in the chinese language textbooks by the content analysis. The textbooks contain grades 1-6 by three publishers, Nan I (Nan I Book Enterprise Co., Ltd.), Kang Hsuan (Kang Hsuan Educational Publishing Co., Ltd.), and Han Lin (Han Lin Publishing Co., Ltd.). The diagram of categories of spatial patterns is formed with the spatial theory of geography and literature, and the analysis process of textbooks. In the textbooks, it analyzed the spatial patterns by the diagram of categories. To discuss the distributions of the spaces, and meanings of the spaces. To checked the textbooks by the Chinese Language Curriculum Guideline. To provide suggestions for the textbooks editors. The each edition of the textbooks, the spaces of fantasy are much less than the reality. The numbers are equal in the spaces of nature and culture of the reality. The each grade of the textbooks, the spaces of fantasy are much less than the reality. The Kang Hsuan and Han Lin’s editions, the distributions of the spaces of fantasy conform to the cognitive development of children. The Nan I‘s editions, the distributions of the spaces of nature and culture of the reality conform to the cognitive development of children. Use the perspective of space as a guideline to writing textbooks. The each edition of the textbooks, should be equal distribution the space of fantasy and reality, and the space of nature and cultural.
