Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 區域與社會發展學系碩士班 === 102 === The research concerns a curriculum design for outdoor education and the evaluation of learning effects on the fifth grade students of an elementary school. Many of the related studies have discussed the learning on environment ecology on leisure farms and evaluated its effects. Distinguishing from those, our curriculum is designed with the resource of Toushe live Basin Recreation Area to include the learning about humanities and ecology. The aim of the research is to explore the propriety of this kind of curriculum design, the students’ learning effects and the feedbacks from the teachers and the students. In the study, quasi-experimental method is used; the analysis is mainly based on quantities and minor on qualities. Both the experimental group and the control group took the test beforehand and then they are given oral introduction indoors. Later, the control group is tested right away while the experimental group is tested after the outdoor education activities. The result of the experiment shows that the curriculum design meets the students’ degree and the content of the activities can evoke the students’ interest in learning. From the achievement tests, the grades on the experimental group are obviously higher than the control one. From the questionnaire about feelings and attitudes, the experimental group behaves more positively. On the teacher’s evaluation form, the students on the experimental group are more satisfied with reaching the goals emotionally or skillfully. Therefore, we can infer that outdoor education brings better effects on learning and shows increasing effects on emotions and skills. Through interviewing with the students or sharing their compositions, we realize that the teachers as well as the students are all satisfied with the outdoor education in Toushe. They all felt fulfilled and impressive in what they learned.
