Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北護理健康大學 === 護理研究所 === 102 === Object: The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship of the clinical nurses from different background on knowledge, attitude of dementia care, and self-efficacy of processing BPSD, to identified the predicted factors, and to diagnose the lower self-efficacy group. Background: Population ageing has become an international issue today, the age related disease, dementia, has increased by this trend, so as the dementia care. The clinical nurses were the first line professional for providing dementia care to this aged group. However, in Taiwan the nursing study for identifying the knowledge of clinical nurses on dementia care is few. Furthermore, the first line professional has limited self-efficacy of dementia patients when have abnormal behaviors occurred. The majority nursing study was using the Mean regression model for testing the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables. Yet, this method cannot detect special need of subgroup only for main group. Therefore, it is important issue to identify the target subgroup from main group. Thus, based on the reasons above, the motivation of this research has been initiated. Method: The cross-sectional study design was used to be main method go through the study. The data selection was based on a convenience sample survey conducted. The participants of this study were the nurses from a medical center of the north Taiwan. Comparing the baseline data, knowledge, attitude, and self-efficacy of processing BPSD of the clinical nurses was using the descriptive statistics, the Pearson correlation, the independent samples T-test, and the ANOVA analysis. The multiple linear regressions were used to analyze the predicted factors of effect on nurses’ self-efficacy of processing BPSD. The regression tree which based on cases was used to describe and compare the baseline data, knowledge, attitude, and self-efficacy of processing BPSD of the clinical nurses. Result: The result showed the most important predicted variables analyzing from the multiple linear regressions were genders, work experience, and work divisions of nurses. Moreover, the regression tree was used the attitude of dementia care, work experience, and work divisions of nurses for diagnosed group of lower self-efficacy. Conclusion:Developing the interventions which according to those characteristic of nurses selected by the multiple linear regressions and the regression tree to prove an appropriate educational training of dementia care for nurses in order to enhance their knowledge of care and to improve the attitude. Therefore, to increase their self-efficacy on dementia care.
