Noise complains are increasing year by year due to an expectation of quiet living environment. There are many artillery ranges spreading around the small Island. The impact noise produced from these ranges causing uncomfortable influences to the neighborhoods around.This study using data collected from Jianjun fire range in Baihe, Tainan, to simulate the influence area. Selected sites were set to measure the impact noise during the exercises, particularly focus at the area where houses or activities are intense. The measured data were compared with the predicted 65 db iso-noise line and plot on GIS digital map to show the impacts. Furthermore, the numerical model has, then, been applied to predict possible prevention measures. The impact noise can, therefore, be reduced. By doing so, the army can use the simulation tool for effectively reducing the disturbances to the neighboring area. The living standards of the people in the surrounding area can be improved.
