Thermal paper coating layer has such four layers thermal layer, precoat layer, surface layer, back coating. The materials of thermal layer are color former, color developer, sensitizers and stability. There are many commercially available color developer , the mainly color developer was Bisphenol A (BPA)because it's cheap and quality in low-cost thermal paper. Japanese market due to the application of BPA may disruptive human hormone secretion, and even the risk of cancer, has been discontinued. But there are still many countries continued in use. Ministry of Economic Affairs Bureau of Standards to safeguard public health, was enacted January 10th 2011 announced CNS15447 "Thermal paper" national standard, the standard thermal paper tube clear specification cannot contain bisphenol A, so that manufacturers and operators have consistent follow norms, can be used for maintaining the quality and safety of the products. In this study, the color developer of the thermal paper for based study , prepar in the thermal paper using without BPA color developer (BPS-2, 4)and the color developer containing BPA. the collection 4 kinds commercially available of thermal paper, Test and evaluation the thermal paper surface properties, durability and BPA content. Results shown the study without using BPA component thermal paper has good surface properties and excellent durability. Showed a significant difference on durability will the difference color developer. There are affect the thermal paper to preservation performance. The commercial thermal paper BPA has been detection beyond the prescribed serious content should not be detection in the CNS15447.
