Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 教育視導與評鑑碩士學位學程 === 102 === This study invesgate curriculums that incorporating character
education into ball games teaching in order to improve children’s
abilities in practicing character education. This is an action research,
and the subject were middle-grade students in an Elementary school
in Pingtung County. Research methods included literature review,
analysis of practical teaching and teacher-student interactions,
reflection, taking observation notes, and student’s feedback.
The findings are as follows:
1. Efficacy of character education curriculam design
(1) By using game form to design curriculum, students can increase their participation, empathy, ability of abiding law and team corporation.
(2) Heterogeneous grouping can eliminate the bullying cases at school and increase their participation, empathy, team corporation, obedience to the referee and abidance to the rule.
2. Learning efficacy of incorporating character education into ball game teaching
(1) Learning efficacy regarding “empathy”: children can learn the positive attitude and how to accept other children’s bad performance.
(2) Learning efficacy regarding “abidance by rules”: children become more attentive to the game rules, learn to obey the referee and increase their ability of abiding law.
(3) Learning efficacy regarding “teamwork”: children can learn how to work with each other through ball games teaching.
3. Researcher’s reflection and development
(1) Character teaching and professional development : the researcher can use different point of view to interpret the research. After that, the research can be more reliable.
(2) Reflection on character education into ball game teaching: by designing appropriate curriculum, children can be more activated to the game and teacher can develop children’s positive attitude.
(3) Understanding the influence of character education on children’s future development: children increase their positive attitude. Just like the old saying, “Education polishes good natures, and corrects bad ones.”
