Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 數位學習教學碩士學位學程 === 102 === The purpose of the research was exploring the problems the teacher encountered, the strategies the teacher incorporated, and the outcome of the students’ learning and their reflections. Furthermore, it analyzed how a teacher could improve his/her teaching based on the findings.
Action research was used as the method of the research. The subjects were a class of 29 students in the fourth grade and the prject-based curriculum was implemented for 18 periods. The curriculum was divided into three main activities: Activity one was to help the students to collect and understand the factors of choosing fast-food Kids Meals through interviewing others on campus. Activity two was to help the students to clarify their reasoning behind choosing fast-food Kids Meals and rank their options by using the Visual Ranking Tool. Activity three was to produce Happy Kids Meal posers which provide the students a better understanding on smart spending and healthy choices. The data was collected and analyzed by means of documents such as learning sheets, on-site observations, peer educators discussions, interviews, teaching feedback sheets, digital ranking results and teaching diaries. The main findings of the research were as followed:
1.The Implementation of theme-based teaching method made the lessons more collaborative, lively, and interesting.
2.The method of Learning Together helps the students to discover the factors of their choices in fast-food kids meals and clarify the value of their spending.
3.The implementation of Visual Ranking does not only arouses the interests of the students in learning but also provides a great opportunity for them to develop the skills of cooperation and thinking.
4.The making of the posters makes learning fun for the students while the content of the posters present a visual result.
5.The teacher and students all value the strategy of collaboration which results in effective teaching.
6.The theme-based learning helps the students to understand smart spending and healthy choices.
Finally, according to the above findings, concrete suggestions were proposed as a reference to schools, educational organizations, and Integrated Activities teachers.
