We use the flower subjects to investigate the style of imagery utilized by individual poet and open the multifarious window to outline the historical memory and the cultural substance of the Hakka This thesis adopts the Literature Review Methodology to investigate the development process of the Hakka literature and clarifying the logic and concepts related to the study topic by means of the related literature. We also do the retrospective summarization of the era and works for the objects under study and confirm the necessity and feasibility of the topic under study from various orientations of the study for the contemporary Hakka poets. To make sure that the topic of the study owns the cornerstone, we will proceed the theoretical retrospect from the aspects of「Theories of creative writing 」and「Theories of image」. In the perspective of「The performance of the flower subject of Contemporary Hakka Poets」, we divide the poems into six categories. We use「Theories of image」and「Rhetoric」to investigate the perspective of「The intersection of the poets's idea and the objective image of flower」. As for the「Flower image of Hakka ethnic groups and cultural substance」, we use the following subjects of memory: apparel, food and drink, folk, grass-roots, landscape, faith and history to open the multifarious window of Hakka culture. It shows from our study that, the flower subjects of contemporary Hakka poets include:coco magnolia, banana magnolia, sweet osmanthus, magnolia , small shell flower , daffodil, Epiphyllum, sunflower,a total of 25 kinds.This thesis focus on the vivid flower symbol and we expect that the flower poetry can be the new element of constructing the Hakka imagery of Taiwan in addition to the ecological poems, politics poems, grass-roots poems and countryside poems.
