It provides elementary and junior high school drop-out and at-risk boys with an alternative curriculum and living care services. The aim of the study is to explore the influences of the curriculum design and teachers’ teaching strategies on the adaptations to returners’ learning, behaviors, interpersonal relationship, and self-acceptance, and then to evaluate if it is an effective intermediate educational institution. In the research methods, all the teachers and students in Family School are the chosen objects of the study, and purposive sampling is selected. Besides, qualitative approaches are used, including document analysis, semi-structured interview, and participant observation, to collect research data. According to the analysis of data, the main conclusions of this study are drawn as follows: 1. The causes of teenagers’ dropout behaviors mainly start from their families, lurk in schools, and sharpen problems in societies. Traditional school environments hasten the deterioration of learning difficulties. 2. The cooperative halfway school can change the external environment filled with disadvantageous factors, and help potential dropouts with long-term misadjustment make good adaptations for return. 3. Family School, a cooperative halfway school, benefits returners to have fine adaptations to their learning, behaviors, interpersonal relationship, and self-acceptance and improves their self-esteem by its curriculum design and teachers’ instructional processes.
