Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 102 === The paper examines behaviors and images of the youth who joined groups of Eight Generals of God (EGG) with two purposes: 1. Performances of groups EGG are not only one of the Taiwan folk activities, but also represents a Pingtung County’s major festival contest. Ironically, even though performance of groups of EGG represents Taiwan in the international stage, the youths who danced in the group are the negative mark in the eyes of media and the general public. 2. The change of these youth behaviors after joined the above groups. The research used the qualitative method with in-depth interviews and observation to investigate the respondents. The results indict that peer pressure was the primary motive for the youth to join the group of EGG; the group would influence the attendants’ personality and deviant behaviors. The dysfunctional families led to the main cause of attendants’ juvenile delinquency. Frustration of learning caused the attendants’ neglecting their schoolwork and away from the campus. Results also indicate that it was difficult to promote education policies and only had limited success on counseling the attendants; there were negative media reports and stigmatization of the members of EGG. Recommendation: The Mission related research activities with more traditional troupes performing temples difference between women's participation in family.
