The study takes Pingtung public elementary pupils in 2012 semester year as the objects and uses self-made “Questionnaire on the recognition of global issue and world citizenship among Pingtung elementary pupils” as the research instrument. Then based on the scale of the elementary school, the author uses the method of stratified cluster sampling to choose the objects from twenty-two schools and recovered 825 valid questionnaires. In the end, all the data are analyzed by the statistic tools including calculation of the mean, standard deviation, variance analysis dependent samples, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation, stepwise multiple regression analysis. And the main research conclusions are as follows: 1. The recognitive degree of global issue among those elementary pupils are quite good, especially the “environmental issue” gets the highest scores, which is followed by the issue of “human rights”and “population”. 2. The performances of those elementary pupils’ world citizenships are quite good; especially “the attitude of world citizens” gets the highest scores, while “the knowledge of world citizens” gets the second. 3. Those girl pupils whose parents got master degrees and above, who are living in city areas and using Han-Lin version textbooks, and whose information resources of global issue comes from teachers have the recognition of higher degree on global issue. 4. Those girl pupils whose parents got master degrees and above, who are living in city areas and using Han-Lin version textbooks, have better performances in world citizenship. 5. The higher the recognition degree of global issue those elementary pupils are, the better they perform in world citizenships. 6. The recognitions of issue on human rights and cooperation have the most effects on the pupils’ performances of world citizenships. In the end, based on the above research conclusions, the author provides concrete suggestions as references for the schools, teachers and future researchers.
