It simulates animal or insect behavior, such as clustering or procreation acts, to design the algorithms for solving optimization problems. In recent years there are a variety of bio-inspired computing algorithms have been proposed, such as firefly algorithm, artificial bee colony algorithm. In this paper, we use firefly algorithm to design the motion estimation, based on block-matching technology. The algorithm is applied to the extensor tendon and achilles tendon ultrasonic image sequence and is proven its effectiveness compared with the traditional full search.
