Summary: | 碩士 === 南開科技大學 === 福祉科技與服務管理所 === 102 === The twenty-first century presents two major challenges in rapid information and communication technology development and population aging. The common application of information and communication products has created a digital era. However, elderly people remain as a minority group in the information and communications market in which their demands are often neglected. Consequently, elderly people cannot easily apply these technologies to make their lives convenient. This study aims to investigate key factors of elderly information and communication demands and their respective weights, and the results can be provided as a quantification basis industries and relevant administrative authorities for improving information and communication technological products.
We first compiled preliminary key factors by reviewing relevant literature and developed a corresponding mind map. Second, we used a modified Delphi method for verifying the key factors of elderly information and communication technology demands, which were used to revise the key factors in the mind map. Third, we used the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory method (DEMATEL) to analyse the correlation and weighting of the primary key factors (Main Branch). Lastly, we adopted the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to determine the weights and priority order of the secondary key factors (Sub-Branch).
From the literature review and confirmation by 15 experts, 6 primary and 24 secondary key factors were verified. The DEMATEL results revealed that “the prospective development” was the crucial factor influencing other factors, and “the information technology hardware” was the most significant key factor influenced by other factors. By using the AHP, the results showed that “the of universal design”, “the learning motive”, “the touch screen”, “the Web search”, “the financial assessment”, and “the service-type robot” yielded the highest weighting in the dimensions of “the information and communication acquisition behavior”, “the senior learning”, “the information technology hardware”, “the Web application services”, “the telehomecare system”, and “the prospective development”, respectively. Finally, we summarized these results and completed the mental decision-making model .
