This study was based on the methodology of investigative questionnaires. The researcher adapted “Individual Basic Information”, “Scale of Parenting Style”, and “Scale of Life Meaning ” as researching tools. The subjects of this study were students currently attending public junior high school in Kaohsiung of academic year 101 from seventh to ninth grades. There were seven hundred and thirty-four effective questionnaire responses. The data was analyzed by statistical methods including descriptive statistics, chi-square test, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. The results of this research were as following: 1. Most of junior high school students perceived authoritarian parenting style. 2. Generally speaking, the subjects felt uncertain toward their life of meaning and goal. 3.There was a statistically significant in perceived the parenting style of junior high school students from different grades and academic achievements. 4. There was a statistically significant in junior high school students’s life meaning from different genders, grades and academic achievements. 5. Those was a significant difference in junior high school students’s life meaning with different parenting style.Those who had most positive sense of life meaning were from authoritarian parenting style. 6. There was a statistically significant correlation between the life meaning and the parenting style perceived by junior high school students. 7. The sense of life meaning of junior high school students could be predicted by the parenting style. The “mother’s response” was the best prediction.
