A joint bilateral filtering is applied to enhance the depth map which is estimated based on the color edge detection for image and partial perspective. The proposed method retains the object outline through a series of optimization steps to make a more rational regional depth estimation. Experimental results show that the depth map enhancement obtains the better image contours and depth imaging, so that a better stereoscope rendering is presented on the stereoscopic display.
