Summary: | 碩士 === 國立宜蘭大學 === 化學工程與材料工程學系碩士班 === 102 === The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of sugar yields of hydrolysis of wood chip by dilute acids. There were two-step investigations. Firstly, wood chip was treated with dilute sulfuric acid to maximize the sugar yield and obtain the optimum condition. Secondary, use various of acids as catalyst (hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and phosphoric acid) to hydrolysis of wood chip under the optimum conditions of the dilute sulfuric acid pretreatment. The hydrolysate was analyze by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for the composition of the sugar.
The results show that as the pretreatment temperature, reaction time and sulphuric acid concentration increased, the sugar yields increased. However, the sugar yield decreased significantly at the harsh pretreatment condition because of the xylose degradation. Compare the results from four different dilute acids, the maximum reducing sugar concentration (11910ppm) was achieved by using dilute sulfuric acid pretreatment (2%, 100oC, 36hr).
