This research focuses on three questions; first of all, what causes the learning stress of children? Secondly, what influences does this stress have on their learning effects and sense of wellbeing? The third question is that how the school courses can be designed to alleviate the negative impacts resulting from learning stress so as to enhance their individual sense of wellbeing. The research is based on questionnaire surveys to which 430 six-graders from four elementary schools in Taibao City located in Chiayi County have responded and data analyses with the method of Multiple Regression Analysis with a view to proving the factors that affect school children’s learning pressure and their sense of wellbeing. Main research results are as follows: The origins of students’ pressure, learning effects and the stragedy intended to alleviate the learning stress are highly related to school students’ sense of wellbeing. The more pressure children suffer from learning, the lower sense of wellbeing will be achieved. The better learning effects, the higher sense of wellbeing. Appropriate learning strategies applied to students can trigger their learning motivation and enhance learning interests along with the sense of wellbeing. According to the research results, the study suggests the education authorities put emphasis on learning strategies formulated to alleviate school students’ learning stress in order that every student can understand his or her inherent capability and attributes are limitless with an eye to helping them develop their potential and experience sense of wellbeing.
