The author of this thesis has witnessed and been sympathetic towards the social turbulence in Taiwan, and the chaotic state in the world caused by war, harsh environment, and natural disasters. By means of artistic creation, the author expresses his inner desire, the awakening of the common belief and value: With each individual adheres to his role, we can create a heaven of idyllic beauty and tranquility. This study explores and reflects on the concept of ”A world of beautiful minds” through theoretical analysis, action research, and interview method. The artworks are organized in three series. The first one is Datong baby, which is the starting point to extend the concept of the world. Then, the second series is about peace, including Doraemon and Hello Kitty, to demonstrate the realization of a beautiful world. The third series is about love. The author attempts to integrate the element of Taiwan’s pottery sculpture into the West, to reveal the nature of love and to elaborate that love can change the world. The writer uses clay mold, with an intention to apply multiple materials, namely glass fiber, koji pottery glaze, brass, stainless steel and organic soap, and combines again with the painting, iron, koji pottery pieces ceramic applique etc, to symbolize that the world can only be beautiful with multiple elements. Practicing love" and "peace" is the key towards "a world of beautiful minds." If we can successfully achieve self-fulfillment, we will be able to fulfill and to save all beings. Thus, a united harmonious world will be formed, which is a step toward paradise. I believe only then our dreams will be realized.
