Through learning the arts of application of marine materials developed a series of art courses with the coastal materials in visual arts instruction. Discussed to use the coastal materials in visual arts instruction, how helpful were they which the students in the study of marine culture and the concept of environmental protection. Reviewed and revised the design of teaching activities, as a reference for teaching of visual arts of offshore schools. Four subjects of this study are to : 1. Discussed the significance of education to use the coastal materials in visual arts instruction for the students in learning the cognition of marine culture and the concept of environmental protection. 2. Discussed the value of application of the coastal materials for the course of visual arts. 3. Developed a series of art courses with the coastal materials in visual arts instruction. 4. Provided research results as a reference for offshore school in visual arts instruction. In this study, through the collection and analysis of literature, researcher observed the vailable coastal materials and implemented personally, compiled a series of art courses with the coastal materials in visual arts instruction of elementary schools. Then researcher studied and teached with action research mode, researcher examined and modified teaching practices, and curriculum by the collaborative teacher's opinions, parents' feedback, student's learning and experience, and researcher's absence. Researcher wanted to establish a series of available visual arts courses for offshore school. Based on the purposes of this study and practical teachings ,findings and conclusions from this research were presented as below: 1.While used of the coastal materials in visual arts instruction of elementary schools, it could improve the knowledge of the local marine culture and environmental protection. Education was of great significance. 2.The coastal materials were economy and environment-friendly, according to the student's life experience, blending into the marine education and the environmental protection education. This course could create a lot of educational value. 3.The teaching effectiveness were good. It was a concrete and workable course. It could provide results as a reference for coastal waters school. 4.Developed subject teaching study from the regional characteristics, planned to deepen and expand the school-based curriculum. 5.The use of peer teachers professional expertise, increased dialogue between teachers, implemented collaborative teaching, teaching benefited teachers as well as students. 6.Maked good use of network resources, enhanced teachers' teaching media ability to use, helpful stimulated the students learning ability.
