Abstract
This research aims to discuss the learning achievement comparison of fifth grade elementary school students in Hsinchu in the experimental teaching of basic financial education course with and without the incorporation of TEAL (Technology-Enabled Active Learning) spirit. The experiment group receive 12 classes of “TEAL-incorporated basic financial education curriculum”, and the control group receive 12 regular financial education curriculum.
The conclusions are as follows:
1. The overall learning achievements of TEAL class is higher than that of regular class, indicating that incorporating TEAL spirit into the financial education curriculum has a significant effect.
2. The consumption and financing literacy of students in the TEAL class is higher than that in the regular class, suggesting that the understanding, application capability, and the high-level cognitive learning achievements of the experiment group are higher than those of the control group.
3. The incorporation of TEAL spirit in instruction is most effective to the understanding or application, but ineffective to the high-level cognitive ability.
4. The incorporation of TEAL spirit into basic financial education curriculum can enhance the teaching-learning interaction, as well as students’ learning interest, learning initiative, and learning in other fields, thus promoting students’ affection-oriented learning.
5. The incorporation of TEAL spirit into basic financial education curriculum can enhance the interaction between teachers and students, and among students, as well as inspire the students’ interest and motive in learning due to joyfulness, self-confidence and sense of achievements.
