Summary: | 碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 藝術與設計學系 === 102 === Ever since the rapid development of computer technology, a lot of conventional visual communication media have been gradually transformed or wearing new looks in front of the audience. The motion graphics, a whole new way of presenting graphics, has become one of the communication media widely loved by the general public for it brings the audience dazzling display, strong visual impact, quality visual enjoyment, and prompt information delivery. Any artistic form of presentation shares the same intrinsic nature, i.e. the expression of a specific feeling, and feeling is the key to distinguishing true arts from pure technique. Since the steps of this study are to collect, to analyze, and to test, this study firstly collected the 28 pieces of art work nominated by the Vimeo Festival + Awards and the Adobe Design Achievement Awards from 2010 to 2013, secondly conducted content analysis as the preliminary analysis, and thirdly finished with cluster analysis. The result was divided into two clusters containing 16 pieces and 12 pieces respectively. Both clusters share some common features in terms of the forms of visual presentation, and they are (1) 2D animations are used, (2) writings are incorporated (including the opening titles and ending acknowledgement), and (3) neutral color tones are adopted. This study then used the abovementioned result as the reference and implemented its own artistic creation using a 2D animation to present its motion graphics, using dots, lines, and planes in an abstract way to express its ideas, using neutral tones with high brightness and high chroma as its color scheme, and using some lighthearted music as the final touch. The last but not the least procedure of this study is the use of SAM (Self-Assessment Manikin) for testing the completed art work. The result suggests that the subjects showed no different perception regarding their levels of pleasure, emotional arousal, and dominance even though they showed differences in factors, such as age, geographic region, education background, and gender.
