In addition, Researcher analyzes the outcomes and implementation by those teachers with different educational backgrounds in the kindergartens. Questionnaires were adopted in this study and the conclusions could be summed up as follows: 1. Current implementation of life education in the kindergarten in Yi-Lan county The popular methods of implementing life education in order are: picture books, incidental teaching, didactic instruction, planting and raising, parent-child activities. The popular courses of life education in order are: understanding and caring about oneself, nurturing good habits, cherishing natural environment, experiencing the happiness of sharing, self-recognizing and building up confidence. The popular source of related information about life education in order are: book’s reading lecture, conference seminar, teaching demonstration, internet, and communication media. 2. Difficulties encountered by teachers when implementing life education The result of this study shows the difficulties encountered by teachers in order are: inadequate teaching resource, no significant effect, courses that cannot be applied properly with subjects, insufficient cares about life education from people, and insufficient discuss and share experience with those teachers who also implement life education. 3. Outcomes after implementation of life education The children after received life education get the highest scores in the aspect “People and environment” of life education. And get the highest score from “Observing the order of growth of planet and animal to know the meanings of life” in “People and environment”. 4. Analysis of outcomes after children taught life education by teachers with different background variables (1) Differences of different background variables in overall of life education From all aspects of life education, the obvious difference can be seen from “Overall of life education” and “People and ourselves” after children taught life education by the teachers with different backgrounds. From the aspect of difference of backgrounds, the obvious outcome only presented on “gender”. The time spent on conference, though not outstanding, the more time spent on life education, the more the teachers knows about life education by Scheffe’s analysis. (2) Differences of different background variables in all aspects of ability of life education In “People and ourselves”, the “Discover strengths and weaknesses” and “Express ourselves properly and seek for help” get the highest scores. In “People and others”, “Care about family and peers” get the highest scores. In “People and environment”, “Observing the order of growth of planet and animal to know the meanings of life” and “Distinguish the changes of nature” get the highest scores. In “People and universe”, “Discover all lives have to face courses of life and death, and learn to say goodbye to those lives have passed away” get the highest scores. Besides, after the teachers participate the lectures about life education, their teaching skill becomes more proficient and with more effective implementation. Abstract
This study aims at investigating the current situation and difficulties encountered of the kindergartens in Yi-Lan county about implementing life education.
