Narrative study was utilized in this research. Two men and two women with bisexual identity were recruited to narrate their experience, and semi-structured interviews were used to collect data. Data was analyzed with the holistic-content method and categorical-content model to discover their sexuality identifying process as bisexuals, their interaction experience with their partners, and their attitudes toward marriage. Research findings coupled with explanation are presented. The study findings are as follows: First, bisexual’s sexual passion flows and was uncertain. They develop personal identity through their interaction experience with their partners and many other ways. However, their identifying process was influenced by the society, culture, and attitudes of their family and friends. Bisexuals tend to come out to their trusted and close friend or partners, but think it is difficult for their parents to accept their sexual identity and choose to conceal this from their family. Second, bisexuals’ interaction experiences with their partners present multifaceted modes, including that (1) the way they talk and dress will not differ as a result of the sex of their partners; (2) their interaction and relationship is affected by their personalities and characteristics; (3) how they act and talk will be different in public, especially when they interact with same-sex partners that intimate interaction will reduce. Their bisexual relationship could be one-to-one or open intimate relationship. (4) Their roles in their intimate relationship could be affected by traditional gender roles that one is the caregiver while the other one is being taken cared of. Female bisexuals in the homosexual partnership inter more equally. (5) Their roles in sex life will also be affected by their traditional gender roles. However, bisexuals in the homosexual partnership tend to work on making each other enjoy the sex. Female bisexuals experience more satisfaction psychologically and intimacy in the homosexual sex, while male bisexuals experience more physical enjoyment and pleasure in the homosexual sex. (6) Female bisexuals report more pressure from their male partners’ parents when it comes to expectation of getting married. Third, bisexual’s marital attitudes vary, including solitarian, expecting spending the rest of life with their same-sex partners, and being unclear in their attitudes toward marriage. The expectations from their relatives will affect bisexual’s marital attitudes. In addition, all four bisexual participants are looking forward to legalization of homosexual marriage in order to protect their rights. Finally, according to discovered findings, implications are suggested to the helping profession of guidance and counseling, schools, government, and legislation institution, and recommendations for future research are presented. 沈玉培 學位論文 ; thesis 202 zh-TW
