The independent variable of the study was direct instruction, the teaching process consists of the following units: “physiology of sex”, “hygiene of sex”, and “self protection”, the dependent variable was the two participants’ learning performance on every single sexuality education unit. The teaching intervention has lasted for four weeks , four periods a week , fifteen Sexuality Education classes in total. After completing the teaching intervention section, the following two weeks were entering the maintenance stage. It took the maintenance achievement tests two times during the section. The evaluation tools designed by researcher, it contains the three rating scales. The model was used to evaluate the students’ learning performance during the three teaching units on the different research stage. Furthermore, by taking advantage of visual analysis, it conducted the analysis results according to the evaluation data to make sure the effects on the teaching intervention. The results of the research as the following: 1. Direct Instruction could help the junior high students with mental retardation perform better on the evaluation test of “physiology of sex” and maintained effective 2. Direct Instruction could help the junior high students with mental retardation perform better on the evaluation test of “hygiene of sex” and maintained effective. 3. Direct Instruction could help the junior high students with mental retardation perform better on the evaluation test of “self protection” and maintained effective.
