Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 光電科技研究所 === 102 === The image sticking of LCD is due to the accumulation of ionic charges between the liquid crystal (LC) and alignment layers, creating the residual direct current voltage (Vrdc). In first part of this thesis, we investigate the effects of silica nanoparticles (SNs) on Vrdc properties of the LC cell; in the second part, we investigate the effects of high temperature and high voltage stress treatments on the deterioration of the LC cell. In the first part, the obtained result indicates that the saturated Vrdc of the LC cell increases with the doped SN concentrations; at the fixed SN concentrations, the saturated Vrdc increases with the supplied DC voltage, because the higher DC voltage adsorbs the more SNs on the substrate surface. Under a low SN dopant concentration and a low DC voltage, the adsorption energy of the LC cell is low, and therefore the image sticking of the LC cell is expected to be low. In the second part of this thesis, after high temperature and high voltage stress treatment, the saturated Vrdc of the LC cell increases and the desorption of ion on the substrate is slow. Furthermore, the surface energy of the LC cell is increased because of the increases in the polar surface energy of the substrate.
