Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 光電科技研究所 === 102 === This thesis demonstrates a liquid crystal (LC) microlens array (MLA) fabricated by liquid crystals (LCs) having the negative dielectric anisotropy, in conjunction with the cell having the three electrodes structure. The demonstrated LC MLA is polarization-insensitive and can be operated in the concave mode and the convex mode, respectively. In the concave mode, the shortest focal length of the LC MLA is -2.54 mm; in the convex mode, the shortest focal length of the LC MLA is 2.22 mm, respectively. Furthermore, owing to the vertical alignment-treated LCs, the disclination lines that are usually observed in the conventional hole-patterned LC lens can also be effectively avoided. The demonstrated LC MLA is used to correct the distortion aberration (DA) of the optical system. The obtained results indicate that the DA of the optical system can be corrected when the focal length of the LC MLA is less than 2.22 mm.
